Ok, first of all that is one of the worst structured sentences Ive ever seen, it made me lauph. And second, I think you didnt understand what Collective was saying, he wasnt saying the sounds youve made are crappy; hes telling you that encoding a song that has a like ~128 kb bitrate or higher, to 8-bit might turn out to have horrible quality.

perfect thats exactly what i meant lol... midi files are perfect for 8bit sound
Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
Oh ok. I'll just have to experiment with the program a little to get the hang of it. I've already done one sound and it lowered the Fla by .14 MB You guys are a life saver

Indeed. Btw, sound compressing is coming along great. The fla is way smaller now, thank goodness

SOME people on the forum need to get a life... wow, I actually feel sorry for those of you that are desperately trying to find one...
Yeah, when I create some enemies, I'm gonna have knockback, enemy health, exp points added, and possibly coins dropped. The moves are actually really cool for those that haven't seen them

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
Anybody got any ideas for a better intro? I need Peach to be kidnapped by some bad guy, where she's taken to a mansion in the woods. Yoshi and Mario need to be incorporated into the intro, to kind of bring together the 2 player part of the game.

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
why don't you actually just finish the game... and then go back and change stuff because you really don't have anything to show for the progress you've made
Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
Hmmm I actually like that idea. Chances are we will come up with something cooler or better, resulting in us wanting to change the intro. Thanks for the advice.
ALL sounds have been modified to a lower bitrate, lowering the fla by half its original size. The sound quality is pretty good, but takes up way less space. Some sounds you can't even tell they've been modified.

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
lol i'm glad you like my suggestion... i want to actually be able to play this game you're giving so much hype lol
Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
If I recall, we had several neat ideas for intros that were all scrapped for reasons I can't really remember...
I'd say for the intro:
-It should be short so that people don't have to sit and watch that much to jump in the game. This will also reduce the number of unique sounds needed to play during it.
-It should be simple so everyone at their computer isn't like, "What the fuck? Why the hell did that happen?" This is why I originally proposed a Bowser-esque idea way back when.
-It should deliver the main protagonists! At this point, even I'm confused whether the main character is Mario or Yoshi or both, so a new intro should help establish this, and if it's both (which I think it is for the sake of co-op and needing both of them in the first place), they should both show up close to evenly.

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
Yeah, the reason I scrapped the beginning intros is simple: I was stupid when it came to flash way back when. I've learned A LOT since then, and won't have any issues with any kind of thing now, at least usually.
But yes, Mario AND Yoshi are both the main protagonists. The game's going to be 1 OR 2 players. You will be able to switch or add the other character at Prof. E. Gadd's House outside the mansion.
I thought we decided we were going to have 2 new bosses never before seen as the main antagonists. I don't remember what you said their names were tho
That's why I like CollectiveUnconsious's idea for making the intro after the game gets going. I think that might have influenced me to scrap the beginning intros as we came up with better ideas.
Btw, I've been having a little trouble with sound volume control with actionscript. The music for outside the mansion begins playing at full volume, but that's not the problem. When a character levels up, a DIFFERENT music track starts to play while the mansion outside music continues to play. I need the mansion outside music to lower volume to like 10 or something so you can't really hear it, but it keeps playing. I've gotten it to work in a way, but it lowers ALL sound volume, not just the one I want to become muted or almost muted. Can anyone help?

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
I thought we were too (two original antagonists), but you seemed pretty latched onto the idea of throwing Doopliss in instead...
I also need to remember their names...

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
I wasn't latched onto Doopliss being in the game, I was thinking of alternate intros that might mix things up a little. I think their names were like Manae... and.... uh.... I don't remember the other one

Re: Yoshi's Mansion (YM)
Carne is the one I remember... Carne and Manae... Idk how the hell we spelled "manae" that way out of maniac, but it looks better than manie or mania for a name
