It's too awesome to let it die. I just don't like doing all the tetious stuff for it. (Making codes for like 20 grounds, about 40 walls, and Mario's massive code OMG) It gets kinda boring Sad

For the first time in a while, seeing as how homework and laziness have been the primary issues, I plan to work on YM as much as possible tomorrow. I have to do a History essay, but that's it. As far as a demo goes, I'm not sure if it will be up tomorrow. I don't think it will be, but who knows? I'd like to get it up ASAP. I'm starting to get that feeling to work on it again Wink

YM is kinda stopped for now. I don't really get too much time to work on Flash stuff, but the first level is almost done. I made some adjustments and got a moving platform to work, as well as a Mushroom Block. I just need to put on a few more walls and that's the first level Very Happy

I'm sorry. I've been pre-occupied with other stuff. I'll be able to work on it a lot over Xmas break, so there might be a new demo. Oh, and the other demos are pretty much invalid now. I restarted for the sake of getting to the mansion faster, hence the name Yoshi's Mansion...

Lots of progress on Mario and the first area. Updates include:

1) Mario's fireballs are useable in midair and on the ground, and they fall if they aren't touching any ground.

2) Hammer and Air Hammer will be used with the same button (X)

3) Mario has been given his forward smash as a basic attack.

4) Falcon Punch is usable on the ground AND in midair.

5) Mario Finale was a little tricky, but I managed to get it. When used in MIDAIR, Mario does NOT fall; he floats just like in brawl. In addition, a camera will appear and slide in and zoom in on him. THEN, as the fire snakes fly out, the camera zooms out TOWARDS the middle of the screen, where it stops, and the camera disappears shortly afterward.

This time, the levels/rooms are going to take up 1 frame each, so there is not need for a camera all the time. Air Hammer is the only thing left to do, and that's REALLY easy. I might put up an update just so you guys can see the intro and Mario's new functions Wink

If he was trying to just rip off those he would have by now, but I think part of the point is that he wants to do it himself for the experience and sense of accomplishment that comes with it.

I don't want to do it myself... it's just the part I'm at now can only be done by someone that can set up the actual flash codes and stuff. ANYONE can help with ideas, enemies/sprites, and any other useful stuff. Seeing as how the Mario MC is done, now's the time for suggestions/help. I'll try to keep anyone that's interested up-to-date with progress, hopefully putting up the recent demo every other week or so, just to see how things are going. I might put the intro, first area, and Mario MC demo up just so you guys can see what is planned.

Here's v 0.1. It's not really a demo, just a controls tutorial. The controls will eventually be in a button so they're not obnoxiously there. Also, Mario will only be able to walk, jump and use normal fireballs at the beginning of the game. He will "unlock" the hammer, explosive fireballs, falcon punch and mario finale later. (He really doesn't unlock Falcon Punch and Mario Finale tho... Wink)

I see you did quite a bit more animations yourself. I could have helped with some of those... Razz

Let's see, I was wondering if, since tweaks have allowed for a more Paper Mario-esque feel, could we possibly do something involving FP?

A few questions so I can consider what you could add:
What are the specific settings?
What are the current characters, who are the bosses, enemies, side characters, etc?
What are the current move sets?
What type of script runtime you are using (be specific: bandwidth, etc...)?
What’s the plot?
What the game genre and mode(s) or game play?

Answering these question elevates the question of what can fit into the current parameters of the game without any dramatic changes.

Settings- A mansion, meadow that the mansion is in, mansion outskirts.
Characters- Mario and Yoshi are the only 2 characters. It will be 1 or 2 player, players can swap or be removed by visiting E. Gadd's place outside.
Bosses- Not quite sure at the moment; more things Jason and I need to discuss. We have 2 ideas for the 2 main bosses tho
Move Sets- Mario's is done, Yoshi's isn't however. Mario has Fireball, Hammer, Air Hammer, Explosive Fireball, Falcon Punch, and Mario Finale.
Script Runtime- ...idk...
Plot- The 2 main bosses who we have an idea for and that will be kept a secret for now (they are new boos)... have a plan to kidnap Peach. They see their opportunity to when Mario and Peach go on a picnic in the meadow. Mario ends up knocked out, and 2 henchboos snatch Peach. Mario comes to as the Boos float away with Peach. Mario chases after them all the way to the mansion's gate where he sees a little house. (Btw, as Mario runs after the Boos, Yoshi hears the commotion and decides to follow) The little house belongs to Prof. E. Gadd, who has unluckily moved in and a mansion has spawned just like before. E. Gadd helps you get into the mansion, and the story starts up.
Genre- Action/Adventure. I objective is to, of course, rescue Peach

Have you tried the recent demo just to see the controls?
