Flawed logic or are you just rationalizing your guilt?

It's insanely easy to say that God is wrong in judging you than admitting to the fact that you are a sinner. Especially when the result of sin is hell fire.

Mind you, pride is also a sin. One I deal with quiet a bit.

Hmmm, I've never dealt with something quiet a bit, mind you...

No, I'm not rationalizing my guilt, I feel no guilt when living my life and questioning your so called firm beliefs that can't be proven except by the words of a two thousand year old book that has been translated and edited time and time again....

And Pickle, as a more friendly talker, this bondage to sin, you break free from this by following and believing in the lord, yes?

Ok, to avoid argueing, lets ignore the 6th and 7th Commandment (murder and adultery) for now. What about the other 8? Have you ever lied, stolen, disrespected your parents, used the Lords name in vain or coveted the property of anyone else? If youve done any of those, even once, you are guilty and heading for hell.

However God is willing to forgive you. Has someone ever done something to you, youve forgiven them, but you are still a little hesitant to trust them again? God goes beyond this and completely ignores all your past sin. Carte Blanch.

Ok, I'm sorry that seems way too extreme of a punishment for mouthing off to your parents on a bad day...

For believing in him and Jesus and acknowledging him as my lord and savior, right?

Sin is sin, regardless of how severe we humans decide it is. God abhors sin and is disgusted when we commit it. Unlike what Dante wrote there is only 1 hell and ALL sinners go there.

Seraph wrote:God goes beyond this and completely ignores all your past sin. Carte Blanch.

That is the first and most important step. But just saying a prayer and saying he is your savior doesn't cut it. If nothing changes in your life afterwards than was it truly sincere? A friend of mine quoted an amazing line about salvation:
"salvation is more than a prayer of confession...its a life of commitment"

2 Corinthians 5:17 says: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

So as I said, it's not simply say this prayer than you can do whatever you want until you die.

God is perfect, not a jerk. I mean, He gave Adam rule over everything on earth. Adam was perfectly immortal, until he sinned. God gave him a perfect world, and Adam disobeyed the one rule God gave him: Don't eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (long name, ino, but i didnt come up with it.) And that caused Adam to be kicked out of the Garden of Eden, to lose his immortality, and he got a conscience. But, I think we all have a flawed view of sin. Sinning is going against God's character. Not doing something "bad," because bad can be a matter of perspective. And we sin because we have learned how to sin by our parents, and then from the rest of society. Its like a very contagious disease. Adam started the disease, and spread it to us. But God has the cure: His Son. And if you dont "take the cure," you're gonna die.

He gives you a choice of whether you want to serve him or not.

Imagine if your parents from this point forward made every decision for you, and I mean everything. What you eat, how you dressed, everything you did during the day. I doubt you would be all that excited to do it and you would most likely rebel against them.

However God told Adam, do whatever you want just don't eat of this one fruit. There are hundreds of other trees with perfectly good fruit all over the place. But this one, don't eat it. And Adam and Eve couldn't even follow such a simple request.

I'd say all three. Things have happened upon my life that I would say reach the "life changing miracle" level, then there is fortune when it comes to these things finding their way or making their way to you. There's also these things that seemed destined to happen, but where you draw the line between "it was meant to happen" and "it was fortune that made it happen" I suppose is up to you...

kinda, more like God allows things to happen to you to either bring you closer to Him, or test your faith in Him. And since God is controlling what is happening, there really isnt luck...

"Hey, buddy! Let's be worshiper and worshipee, but to get you to idolize and worship me, I'm going to give you a disease that makes it unbearable to live Wee !"

If your God is perfect, he would have a better way to go about things than to make innocent people suffer for his own unknown purposes...
