Do you believe in...?
Re: Religion.
Well you have lived, so why aren't you dead then?
From a scientific point of view the purpose of life is to create more life.

Re: Religion.
I don't see how you can really have fun if you're questioning if it was really you having the fun or some false guise or something you use to identify with others rather than your own undiscovered true self...

Re: Religion.
Yeah but to me, if you ain't thinking about life, you ain't living right. If you just make a decision and not think about it, it is most likely going to make your life miserable. Sides anyway, you might not be able to enjoy certain parts of life without thinking and thinking can help you change.

I agree. I would have fun if I know it was I doing it, not some imposter. The Reporter wrote:I don't see how you can really have fun if you're questioning if it was really you having the fun or some false guise or something you use to identify with others rather than your own undiscovered true self...

Re: Religion.
I meant that sometimes people don't act like themselves and it is hard to find out if those actions were yours or something you were doing to impress someone or thought you had to do those actions to have fun with them which no one should do.
To me, you need to think so you can find out who you are so you don't act like someone else because if you do, that is not fun to me and will make your life miserable later on in life. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!

Re: Religion.
I actually heard you don't discover who you are until you are into your twenties to older and I believe that is true because it explains how we act so different when we are in our teens compare to when we are twenty to older.isbird100 wrote:Dude that sounds like someone with little self confidence to me... no offense but really you should now who you are, adn if you do something to impress someone then you did that because you wanted to...
Sides anyway, after school, we have to fit into society and we can't usually act like we did in high school or else we won't fit in with society.
Also, how do know if you wanted to. Maybe unconsciously you did for attention but in your consciouss, you did it because you thought was funny. It is hard to know what actions you like and don't like when you don't know who the heck you are.

Re: Religion.
according to the Bible, lifes purpose (man's life) is to serve and praise God. Then after Adam sinned, He intoduced an additional step to overcome sin: accepting Jesus as Savior. the purpose for a Christian is to please God and to tell others of God's Grace and Mercy.

Dude the bible is so screwed up... It says to kill magicians, have women sacrifice two doves every time they get their period, and many other things that are just plain stupid.

Re: Religion.
Main reason I choose not to live by the Bible is the same reason I choose not to live by the Epic of Gilgamesh...

I believe in the Bible too, but I think its about suggestions not exact guidelines. I mean be a good person, and then you shouldn't have any problem right?

show me where it says to kill magicians. last time i checked it said not to kill.
and where in the world does it command a women to sacrifice anything due to a period?!?!?
plus, everything it has said has been right so far.
it was the first to say the Earth was round
It was the first to say that the Earth was suspended, and not held up by something
God told the Jews to be circumcised. the rest of the world didnt and thought it was stupid to. now, doctors have discovered that circumcision helps prevent infections....down there
Re: Religion.
lolol no it doesn't and maybe i was reading a different version of the bible.
I just see it as guidelines.
I say be a good person and you'll get into whatever afterlife you believe in.
I really doubt that the trillions of people throughout history are going to hell or purgatory because they never heard of christianity. I mean It just doesn't make sense. If someone is never exposed to it, they shouldn't be punished, but that is what some christians believe.
And just my thinking there is no way animals don't have souls.
