Think of it like Super Mario 64 or Sunshine, the cut scenes cannot be skipped but its the same standard gameplay even with the absence of the story, and from what I've seen so is yours. Games like Tekken have the same principal but they allow the player to skip cut scenes, a good flash game example would be Sonny.

I could make cutscenes skippable, but the player wouldn't really know what's going on, or what to do next. This game isn't like a typical Mario game, but more like a puzzle game. Rooms will be unlocked one by one, and you're gonna have to know where to go next. Some cutscenes might tell you where to go next.

I see where DRS is coming from, but Yoshi's right, if you don't pay attention to where to go, you could end up smashing through the same rooms over and over and over...

Quick fix:
1. have on whaterver page the game is presented on controls (like how Cartoon Network, vNES, or myself do)

2. Present a link to a game guide to the game on that page.
3. [maybe] have all cutscenes replayable by direct question, video gallery or replays, or state what has happened in a summarized paragaph after the scene that may or may not short set time for being up (like Final Fanasy or even like Star Wars)

Gee thanks...

I'm confused... You want me to make a game guide, video gallery, and a link to what? The game's already 6.50ish MB, and that's not even with Yoshi, key characters, or enemies in... That would take up lots of memory

NEW GAME DEMO
Sorry for lack of updates and demos for those that actually follow the game. I haven't really been in the mood I need to be to work on the game constantly, but now I finally am. Plus, Jason and I haven't really had a good chance to talk and design the mansion rooms, E. Gadd's Lab, and other very important things needed for gameplay. So, obviously, gameplay hasn't started just yet. On the plus side, this is the LAST demo BEFORE gameplay begins, so hang in there Wink

New Additions (I think):
- The intro has been completely redone. It has a WAY better plot that throws a curveball. It is a little longer, but I don't think it drags on too long.
- I don't remember if level up stuff was there before, but it's completely done. Level up by giving yourself 4 stars. I give you 12 so you can test out the upgrades.
- Most of the bugs have been fixed, except just one that I cannot help. When the intro is complete and you can start controlling Mario, watch E. Gadd's door. The emblem will flash for a moment, but then it reappears. The reason for that is ALL doors are going to be in that one movieclip, and E. Gadd's door is on the 2nd frame of that MC. It is processing the code in that brief flash.
- Oh, and music has been added, and sounds have been redone to lower file size.
EDIT: Oh, btw, if you actually press S on the door, you'll go to a blank next frame, so unless you want to restart the game, DON'T PRESS S WHILE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR!!

Nice to meet you too, newcomer, sorry not to have gotten to you sooner! tongue

The demo for this game has gone through on and off phases for a little bit now, so the current demo doesn't have too much, but it does have working items and a demonstration of Mario's controls and attacks. You can get the link to the download from Box.net in Yoshi16's signature, and run the game using Adobe Flash Player.

EDIT: To make things easier for you, I'll paste a link to the newest demo here

Hey, I'm glad to see someone new that wants to play the game. Sorry I haven't been able to work on it next to nothing for the past few months. My homework load is just insane, plus studying for the AP exam. But since that's over as of today, and the year is wrapping up, I will be able to work on it much more after this weekend. I'm not to worried about finals, so they won't be a problem interfering with the game makin time. So Jason, when are your finals? Maybe we can get together next week and make that darn lab? Razz

Finally, a GAME UPDATE!!

Today there was decent progress made. I was forced to delete part of the intro that is pretty much useless due to an issue involving going into new rooms. I created "Switch Aura", as I like to call it (details will be released later Wink), the ability to go into E. Gadd's Lab, or what will be his lab, and the ability to exit it as well. Nothing much, but it was really confusing to figure out, so I call it a win for THE GAME (got anyone who just read this lol). As said, "Switch Aura" will be discussed when the whole process is complete. It is really unique for the game tho, and I'm sure you guys'll like it Wee

GAME UPDATE:

Progress has been very steady. Yoshi is about halfway done already. He's got Egg Throw, Yoshi Bomb, and Flutter/Flutter Kick. Still gotta do his Final Smash, FP moves, and Falcon Kick. I need Jason's help to do Falcon Kick and the FP moves, but he hasn't been talking to me lately... idk why... But until then, there isn't much to do... :/

GAME UPDATE: Yoshi is already almost done. We just need to create his Falcon's Crest attack and FP moves. Once that's done, the game will be smooth sailing Wee

Not anger, frustration. As for where it came from. . .

I wrote:I'll tell you guys later, just crap with my sister. . .

Also, you said that "we" needed to work on a couple things soon to get the next demo up, which is true, but implies that you were asking me to work on something at the moment as well, which I was in no mood or spirit to do. Prejudging, no, but forewarning, yes.

Lastly, I was working on Gadd, but something came up with him that set me back a couple paces.
