File Placement: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
What you need:
- SD Card/USB Flash Drive
- Basic Knowledge of Making and Naming Folders
- Common Sense
First, open up "My Computer" and bring up the device you intend to use. In the device's main folder (which from this point forward will be called the "root" folder), make 3 new folders.
1. Apps - the folder where your Homebrew applications will be stored
2. Codes - the folder where your Gecko codes will be stored
3. Private - the folder where your game files will be stored
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you keep the names exactly as I have them (not case sensitive), so no folders named "Wii Codes" or "Applications." For the sake of this tutorial, ignore the first two folders for now and go into the "private" folder. Make a new folder called "wii." Inside this folder, make another one called "app." In this one, make a new folder called "RSBE." You will see these letters come up frequently over time. Make one last folder called "pf" inside of RSBE and stop here for now.
Your file path should now be something like:
F:\Private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\
Now, it's finally time to begin actually placing files for Brawl. Go into your newly created "pf" folder and make the following folders:
1. Fighter - where character hacks will go.
2. Item - where ONLY Assist Trophy and Pokeball hacks will go.
3. Menu2 - where hacks to your main menus will go.
4. Minigame - where hacks for things like the Coin Launcher go.
5. Module - (More on this later)
6. Sound - where music hacks will go.
7. Stage - where level hacks will go.
8. System - where "common#.pac" files go (more on this later).
Just a little bit more and you'll (at the very least) be texture swapping in no time!
